Described by vice.com as "Singapore's Goriest, Most Bizarre Park" - Haw Par Villa is like taking a step back in time. Topless mermaids, dragons and bloodied, tortured figures - more than 1000 in all - have been lovingly painted and maintained by Mr. Teo for 70 years. Now he must step down and pass his paintbrush to the next generation. The trouble is, no Singaporean is willing to take the hot weather and low pay his job entails. Enter two Chinese Mainland workers who must pick up a lifetime of skills in a matter of months. The story of Singapore's past - and its growing dependence on migrant workers - is told in the passing of a paintbrush.
